June and July were months of stressful heat. Extreme heat and a stressed economy continue to weigh on Forest Park's pursuit of members and golfers. The financials reflected the conditions with limited play from the public play sector as well as the membership. Costs were in line with budget expectations.
The bright side to the weather is the pool. Crowds smiling, young faces, and water are a welcome relief from the heat.
The board also approved some needed repairs to the bridges on the course. These repairs to the bridges on the course. Theses repairs will start soon and we will try to complete in a timely fashion. There may be some disruption in play, but it will be limited. As the work schedule is determined, information will be left in the pro shop.
On Friday, August 27th at 6:30pm in the clubhouse, I will hold another meeting with the members. I will plan to discuss financials, plans, and answer your questions and concerns. This is your meeting and I hope to see you there.
On the lighter side, a tip for golfing in the heat, hit the ball straight and drink plenty of water. You will use less energy.

I hope fun was had by all that attended the pool party. I want to thank all that returned their winnings from the first half to the MGA, you know who you are. Thank you!!
The Member – Guest will be held on August 14-15, with a welcoming party on Friday night. There is a sign-up sheet in the pro shop, so please sign up early so we can have ample time to plan everything. Details for the activities will be posted at the pro shop in the near future, so be on the lookout.
The Labor Day tournament will be on September 6th and follow the same format and pricing as July 4th event.

Hamburger, hotdogs, baked beans, potato salad, coleslaw, dessert, tea & lemonade. $6.00 for all.
